Mike Flanagan’s spectral sequel gets a trailer.
Sequels rarely make anyone all that excited. Except, of course, when they’re helmed by visionaries who have proven themselves masters of their dark craft.
ABSENTIA, OCULUS and HUSH director Mike Flanagan is one such visionary and today, Universal dropped the trailer for his curious followup to the hit 2014 horror film OUIJA.
Filmed as OUIJA 2, the movie is now called OUIJA: ORIGIN OF EVIL (co-written and directed by Flanagan) and the trailer looks just as elegant, austere and eerie as all of Flanagan’s pictures are.
Here’s the synopsis:
In 1965 Los Angeles, a widowed mother and her two daughters add a new stunt to bolster their séance scam business and unwittingly invite authentic evil into their home. When the youngest daughter is overtaken by the merciless spirit, this small family confronts unthinkable fears to save her and send her possessor back to the other side.
The Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form, Jason Blum, Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis produced film stars Henry Thomas, Elizabeth Reaser, Doug Jones, Parker Mack, Sam Anderson, Kate Siegel, Annalise Basso and Lulu Wilson.
