One of the greatest horror films in history gets primed for deluxe Blu-ray release.
Director Don Siegel’s classic and influential 1956 paean to extraterrestrial paranoia INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS is inarguably a classic, but for this writer’s money, Phillip Kaufman’s 1978 remake-cum-sequel is a superior picture, an extension and update of the first films’ themes and horror.
It’s an absolute masterpiece. A terrifying and unforgettable amalgam of sound, story, image and oddness.

Now, Scream Factory have announced their intentions to release a souped-up “Collector’s Edition” of this majestic film on Blu-ray. Street date is August 2nd. Specs and extras (both new and existing) will be announced sometime in June. The newly-designed front-facing artwork you see here is final (not pictured is the reverse wrap image which will showcase the original theatrical poster art.)
