The very curious Martyrs remake, whose existence only seemed to come to light this past February after its production had ended, will hit the U.S. via Anchor Bay.
Directed by Kevin Goetz and Michael Goetz, Martyrs stars Troian Bellisario and Caitlin Carmichael. Like its Pascal Laugier-directed predecessor (pictured top), the film concerns a pair of women who invade the home of a family that took one of them captive as a child. Many are surely intrigued by how an adapted Martyrs will play out, as the original film was especially notable for its ultraviolent nature and grueling second half.
Anchor Bay will release in theaters, on demand and on Blu/DVD. No date just yet.
