Image/RLJ has set a June 19th release for the new feature from Gremlins and The Howling legend, Joe Dante.
Burying the Ex, a romantic horror-comedy starring Anton Yelchin, Ashley Greene and Alexandra Daddario, concerns Max, whose girlfriend Evelyn turns out to be a controlling, manipulative nightmare, Max knows its time to call it quits, but theres just one problem: hes terrified of breaking up with her. Fate steps in when Evelyn is involved in a freak accident and dies, leaving Max single and ready to mingle. Just as Max is thinking about moving on with what could be his dream girl, Olivia (Alexandra Daddario) Evelyn has returned from the grave and is determined to get her boyfriend back…even if that means transforming him into one of the undead.
Image previously announced the film would hit both VOD and limited theatrical release. Burying the Ex saw its World Premiere last summer at the 71st Venice International Film Festival. The film is Dantes first feature since 2009s 3-D horror, The Hole.
