Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s AMC adaptation of Garth Ennis comic classic Preacher is coming together fast, with today bringing the casting of Irish vampire, Cassidy.
Joining Ruth Negga as Tulip, the old girlfriend of eponymous Jesse Custer, actor Joseph Gilgun will play Cassidy on the upcoming series. Gilgun, if you’re unfamiliar, is a terrific performer who many got to know as Woody in Shane Meadows’ great This is England and subsequent miniseries, This is England ’86 and This is England ’88. Preacher will follow Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper is “in conversations for the role”), who embarks on a journey to find God after he’s possessed by the being, Genesis.
