Spring is something special. A singular film from two metaphysical minded filmmakers that’s as emotionally stirring as it is creature feature fascinating. It’s one of the must-see movies of 2015, and you’re official glimpse is here.
Directed by Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, the duo behind Resolution, Spring is a lush piece of work about Evan (Lou Taylor Pucci, Evil Dead, Thumbsucker), a young American fleeing to Europe to escape his past. While backpacking along the Italian coast, everything changes during a stop at an idyllic Italian village, where he meets and instantly connects with the enchanting and mysterious Louise. A flirtatious romance begins to bloom between the two – however, Evan soon realizes that Louise has been harboring a monstrous, primordial secret that puts both their relationship and their lives in jeopardy.”
Louise’s other forms are something else, and their origins are beautiful. Much of the film finds beauty in the monstrous and otherworldly and I think horror fans will find it very easy to connect. Spring is out March 20th, in theaters from Drafthouse Films and on VOD from FilmBuff.
