Video game producer/director Kris Renkewitz will be jumping into horror film, making his feature directorial debut with WWII-set zombie film, Untöt, set to star Hayden Christensen.
Warrior and Pride and Glory‘s Greg O’Connor is producing the film, “set towards the end of World War II in December 1944. During a blizzard, an elite military unit headed by Lt. Fredrick Hank (Christensen), is dropped behind enemy lines in the mountains of Poland to destroy a secret Nazi weapons facility. The soldiers must face their greatest fears when they encounter something they could never have been trained for. The undead.”
Production on Untöt is expected to get underway this March. Christensen is of course no stranger to genre, leading two of the Star Wars prequels and getting his start in John Carpenter’s In the Mouth of Madness, which we celebrated yesterday with a fantastic essay.
