What is it that makes us fall for vampire women? Is it simply their look or is it something more? Do we look for the same traits that we do in human women or do we judge them by their ferocity? Everyone is different so this is my top 25 sexiest vampire woman of all time. With Valentine's Day just around the corner, consider this a love letter to these lovely ladies of the night. I would like to hear your lists as well, to see if we are the same page.
25 of the Sexiest Female Vampires
#25
Space Girl (Matilda May)/Lifeforce (1985): Lifeforce was in a class by itself. Its decadence was legendary in its day and Matilda May is the reason. Walking around naked for half the picture, she is the reason that Lifeforce was the one vampire film that you kept hidden in your sock drawer.
#24
Katrina (Sheryl Lee) Vampires (1998) : Those sad, but beautiful eyes. Perhaps it’s the pouty lips. Whatever the reason, Sheryl Lee was the typical victim-turned-vampire vixen, though there are many, few are as good as she was.
#23
Lilith (Angie Everhart)/Bordello of Blood (1996) : With her flaming red hair and matching eyes, Lilith was the embodiment of evil. She relished her sexuality and bloodlust and believe you me, if she was the seducer of eternal torture, I might just sign up.
#22
Countess Irina Karlstein (Lina Romay)/Female vampire (1973) : Lina Romay was the epitome of the Spanish vampire and Irina was her masterwork. This female vampire is all about the hunt and the climax and you could see it in her eyes with every frame. She made you want to be part of it.
#21
Valerie Sharpe (Jeri Ryan)/Dracula 2000 (2000) : Though her part is small, Valerie was a standout vamp in Dracula 2000 . In a film with several dark-haired beauties, her voluptuous frame, blonde hair and white gown cut quite the unforgettable image. To this day, I wish the film was about her.
#20
Regine Dandridge (Julie Carmen)/Fright night 2 (1988) : Regine had something different. She was amazingly seductive and very foreign. She had a sense of class about her that you didn’t get often in American films of the time. That hint of Euro sensibility is what set her apart, I think, and I feel that if there is one underrated '80s horror sequel that deserves some revisiting, it’s this one.
#19
Lillie Langtry (Stacy Haiduk)/Kindred: The Embraced (1996) : Kindred: The Embraced was a short-lived TV series based on White Wolf’s Roleplaying series. Lillie was a classy and artsy vampire club owner who played all sides as long as it benefited her. There was just something about her that kept you coming back.
#18
Dracula’s Bride (Monica Bellucci)/Bram Stokers Dracula (1992) : There were a few vampire beauties in this Dracula film so it took something special to stand out. Monica Bellucci has that something. I wish I knew what it was. In any case, she doesn’t really talk but she slides up between your legs while you’re in bed minding your own business and she eats babies. SOLD!
#17
Michelle Morgan (Denice Duff)/Bloodstone: Subspecies 2 (1993) : One of the unexpected perks to becoming a vampire is eternal beauty, even if you didn’t start out with it. Michelle started off played by Tom Welling doppelganger Laura Mae Tate. After being bitten and entombed at the end of the first film, she awakens as Denice Duff, sort of a reluctant vampire on par with Anne Rice’s Louis, though since this film came out in 1993, we weren’t sick of it yet.
#16
Drusilla (Juliet Landau)/Buffy The Vampire Slayer (1997-2003) : Crazy is good as long as you can roll with it. What was great about Drusilla is that she was sexy and vicious but completely off her rocker. In a way this added to her ability to scare you and made you kinda into it at the same time. She was seductive but childlike, innocent and completely guilty. A contrast on all fronts and possibly the most complex vampire of them all.
#15
Miriam (Anulka Dziubinska)/Vampyres (1974) : Miriam was a lesbian victim of a hate crime who returned as a vampiric ghost with her lover. They hitchhike, bring men back to their estate, allow him to feast on them before returning the favor…literally! Fran is a ghostly white beauty that I always found ethereal. She never seemed to feel good or bad about what she was. That is what I find interesting.
#14
Rayne (Kristanna Loken)/Bloodrayne (2005) : Is the movie good? Not really. Is it scary? Not really. Is it sexy? Yes. Kristanna Loken is fantastic as Bloodrayne. She is smart, sexy, and driven by a bloodlust. She is what she needs to be in a movie that is not - 'nuff said!
#13
Erika (Sophia Myles)/Underworld (2003) : She is conniving, cold, and irresistible. Not to be outdone by Selene the Deathdealer, Erika has her own allure. She is all woman and though you may want to take her under your wing, she needs no one. Plus, she looks hella good hanging from the ceiling.
#12
Clara (Gemma Arterton)/Byzantium (2012) : Ruthless, determined and striking. Who could be a more beautiful vampire than Gemma? She is part of the beauty of every scene and that makes you forget that she is the bringer of death.
#11
Miriam (Catherine Deneuve)/The Hunger (1983) : She walked the line between high class and new wave fashion. A woman who had lived for centuries in every part of the world. I think what made her appealing is that she was often sad and that made her real. Even blood thirsty killers have a heart.
#10
Djuna (Joséphine de La Baume)/Kiss of the Damned (2012) : Djuna is a vampire that plays hard to get. She wants you and she hates that she wants you. That is what keeps her interesting. Her desire and bloodlust are both so powerful that when they surface, it’s almost too erotic. Need more vampires like her?
#9
Bertha (Diana Lorys)/Fangs of the Living Dead (1969) : Okay, so Bertha isn’t a sexy or frightening vampire name. Hell, it’s not even a sexy human name (though it can be frightening). Bertha is a beer-slinging server who becomes a vampire when we least expect it. She’s sassy and dominant. The kind of vampire you wouldn’t mind having a pint with. You know.
#8
Genevieve Bennett (Barbara Capell)/Werewolf vs. the Vampire Woman (1971) : This vampire had it all. Cool '60s style, an innocent look about her, and a thirst to drink blood from her friend’s neck in a gold chalice. See…style. She moved in slow motion and had the biggest fangs I’d ever seen! If you’ve never seen this film, consider yourself lacking!
#7
Sarah (Sharon Tate )/Fearless Vampire Killers (1967) : Sometimes you don’t know you have a vampire until it’s too late. Sarah was one of those. Engrossing, playful, and unforgettable. Who wouldn’t want to save her? The problem is that you’ll be the one in need of saving.
#6
Mae (Jenny wright)/Near Dark (1987) : I love country girls and I love horror. From that point of view, you had to love Near Dark . Mae was that girl next door but with a bloody secret. She had swagger in a blood-laced pout. Really, could you ask for anything more?
#5
Sasha (Brigid Brannagh)/Kindred: The Embraced (1996) : Sasha rode in on a Harley, actually had a figure 8, and grabbed her grandfather’s corpse and kissed it on the lips at the wake. All this before she became a vampire. It only got better after. She had a bad girl visage that was actually believable. If there was one vampire I wouldn’t mind being a slave for, it’s her.
#4
Katia Vajda/Princess Asa Vajda (Barbara Steele)/Black Sunday (1960) : Witch/Vampire/ Princess. No one multi-tasks like Barbara Steele. With one of the all-time most powerful introductions, she commands respect. She is both beautiful and terrifying. Everything a vampire should be.
#3
Santanico Pandemonium (Selma Hayek)/From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) : She dances with a snake twice as long as her and almost as wide. She pours you a drink down her leg! If there is one sheer force of vampiric sexual energy, it’s Satanico. She is powerful and rules with an iron fist. Not a woman to be trifled with!
#2
Carmilla/Mircalla (Ingrid Pitt)/The Vampire Lovers (1970) : What is it that makes Carmilla so seductive? Is it the accent? The dresses she wears? Whatever it is, she set the standard for all vampires past present and future. If you watch other performances closly, you’ll see a hint of Carmilla in them.
#1
Selene (Kate Beckensale)/Underworld (2003) : Selene comes out on top! Why her above all others? She simply had it all. She is strong and protective, deadly and fierce. She can be sexy and alluring (on a rare occasion) and even mothering. She is equally deadly with swords or guns and damnit, she has the coolest wardrobe of all the undead.
