Set to be one of 2013’s PS3 exclusives, the game has been in development hell forever, missing its target date. Last word from the developer Super Massive Games, was that it was, “Still in development and things were going well.”
Well, okay…I guess we would have to wait a little while longer. Then, these letters went out to fans who have pre ordered the game on Amazon: “We recently learned that the manufacturer of Until dawn – PlayStation 3 cancelled this release and it will not be available for purchase.”
Sony has declined to comment on whether or not the game is cancelled so it’s hard to gage what the letter means. What I’m saying is, it’s possible that the game will no longer be a PS3 release and will be carted over as a PS4 exclusive or PSVita exclusive. Without more information, I wouldn’t hold my breath. I was looking forward to this game and am disappointed that it may no longer be on its way. But just maybe, like the teen slasher genre itself, there could be one final scare up its sleeve.
