Cattet and Forzani are the right helmers for a task like this as their previous effort, Amer, is a loving nod to giallo films. The duo also have The Strange Colour of Your Body’s Tears which also appears to carry the giallo torch.
The mash-up is a worthy celebration of Argento’s visual motifs. It’s a collage of color, bloodshed, screams, zooms, eyeballs and glistening blades. Give yourself four minutes or so to enjoy. My only criticism is that the piece could use a single piece of music to tie all of these nightmarish images together rather than using the source sound. Still, this is very cool.
