Is Eli Roth Going to Direct a David O. Russell Horror Script?

With The Green Inferno in the can and making the festival rounds, what does Eli Roth have up next?  Well, he'll have a hand in Beyond the Green Inferno, a sequel directed by Nicolas Lopez.  After that?  Who knows…  But the director of the upcoming American Hustle, David O. Russell, says he has a horror script he penned in Roth's hands.

In addition to American Hustle, Russell is the director of The Fighter and Silver Linings Playbook.  In an hour-long roundtable discussion with The Hollywood Reporter, he revealed the following:

I wrote a couple of things that someone might make, Eli Roth may actually do one, I wrote a horror a few years ago.  It’ll be coupled with Eli Roth, that’s exciting to me.  Because I had to write to support myself…I wrote a horror [film] for producer Colleen Camp a horror film that I thought was interesting. And Eli thinks its interesting.  I think he’s going to make it more interesting – I don’t wanna say anything more, I’ll let Eli talk about it.

I'd actually be curious to see what a Russell-penned script is like.  More as it develops!
