Shooting is expected to begin in early 2014 with B.J. McDonnell (Hatchet III) at the helm. He’ll be directing from a script by Munier Sharrieff. Mane, Renae Geerlings and Justin Beahm will produce.
Penance Lane tells the story of Crimson Matthews, a hardened criminal fresh out of the joint who takes a job as a handyman in a dilapidated house; but the twisted horrors he finds inside are enough to send anyone running. So why does he stay? And what is it about the house on Penance Lane that lures so many in? Set in a former factory town in decline, the film explores both second chances and what people will resort to when they are truly desperate.
Weve had this incredible script for a while, but we were waiting for just the right moment and combination of talent to bring it from script to screen, says Mane. Im ecstatic that the stars have finally aligned for me to bring together some of my favorite people in the horror industry to make this film. When B.J. signed on, I knew the time was right.
Mane is currently seeking a distributor for his previous producing effort Compound Fracture.
