Exclusive: Elijah Wood Talks Upcoming Horror Projects Under Spectre Vision

“We started the company because my partners and I are fans of the genre and we wanted to be involved in the making of genre and horror films we love and want to see,” Wood said.

Wood tells us the company is about to go into production on the long-mooted Cooties, written by Leigh Whannell (Insidious, Saw) and Ian Brennan.  The film concerns a zombie virus “that infects children who reach puberty,” he said.  “That’s probably our most exploitation-based film.”

Also on the roster: A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night, now in post-production, which is an Iranian vampire film.

“We have a number of other films in various stages of development,” Wood added.  “We have a film called Henley that we’re developing which is about the birth of a serial killer, watching the attributes a young boy might have that might lead them down the path to becoming a killer.  It’s based on a short film that played at Sundance.”

Maniac is now available on VOD and opens in Los Angeles this Friday.  Stay tuned for our full interview with Wood later this week!
