The film is the first English-language project for director Adrian Garcia Bogliano, who made a splash on the genre scene with Cold Sweat, Penumbra and the upcoming Here Comes the Devil.
Cummings and Embry join previously-announced cast member Nick Damici (Stakeland). Shock Till You Drop has also exclusively learned that Tina Louise (Gilligan’s Island‘s “Ginger”) will appear in the film.
Late Phases will tell the story of Ambrose McKinley, who moves into a community where the residents have been dying in increasing numbers – oddly, all have supposedly been the victims of dog attacks. But after barely surviving his own attack on his first night there, Ambrose discovers that the assailants are much more than canines.
Damici is playing the part of Ambrose. Cummings and Embry will plays a couple in the film.
Embry will next be seen in the festival darling Cheap Thrills; Drafthouse Films is releasing that picture later this year. Cummings can be seen in The Iceman starring Michael Shannon.
