Acker directed the 2009 film 9; he’ll be helming Beasts for Reel FX, says The Wrap.
Created by Evan Dorkin and Jill Thompson, the first Beasts of Burden tale was released in 2009 and told the story of a gang of dogs and cats that team up to protect their owners from supernatural threats.
Darren Lemke was brought aboard in 2011 to pen the script.
