The show is being described as a supernatural/UFO series in the vein of The X-Files.
The team behind it is Carl Binder (Stargate) and The Librarian‘s David Titcher and, according to the site, it is “based on the alleged real-life mysteries from this world and beyond, it centers on the workings of a clandestine organization rumored to be named ‘Weird Desk.'”
Instead of Mulder and Scully, we get the “socially inept” Morgan and the special forces-trained Rosetta. Sigh. Look for the show next summer.
Speaking of The X-Files, how about that third movie? If you’re waiting for one, forget about seeing anything any time soon. There is no script. That’s according to the series’ Frank Spotnitz who spoke with Den of Geek. If there was going to be a film, he – and show creator Chris Carter – would want to wrap up the “alien colonization” arc they had created.
As for perhaps a reboot of the series itself on the small screen? “I mean, I dont think I would have anything to do with it but you know, for better or for worse, these things are titles of big corporations, like ‘Star Trek’ belongs to Paramount and ‘The X-Files’ belongs to Twentieth Century Fox and its a huge asset in their libraries so I cant imagine they would let it sit languishing forever … Anything could happen. I just hope that if they do it, they do it well, thats my only request,” says Spotnitz.
