Waste Some Time With This DIY Giallo Generator

This morning, fortunately or unfortunately, I’ve been procrastinating with a site I had never heard of that created its own giallo generator, offering you a fake giallo film complete with title, director and incricate plot.

Braineater is the host of the Do-It-Yourself Giallo; if you refresh the page, you’ll get a new film each time.  Of course, the longer you stay on the site, refreshing…refreshing…refreshing that page, the longer you’ll start to see themes (always a reference in the title to an animal, blood or an object).

Some favorites.

Five Victims for the Maniac with the Eyes of Jade: Directed by Xerxe Silveri

A deeply religious priest is found brutally murdered in the trunk of a famous politician’s car. His friend unearths a clue to the the crime; and after running afoul of the police investigation, he discovers that he himself is actually responsible; his own son is forced to kill him before he can kill again.

The Snow Leopard with Eyes of Ice: Directed by Franco Franco

A surgeon finds a human torso which has been hacked up on stage, in front of an audience which doesn’t understand what’s going on. His brother is troubled by dreams in which he sees the the killing; and he kills the maniac in self-defense, but is mistakenly identified as the culprit and killed by a relative of the victim seeking revenge.

Thanks to Brian Collins for pointing me to this and subsequently steering me off my work to-do list.
