In a “Twitter” conversation with Shock and director Scott Derrickson (Sinister) last night, Insidious helmer James Wan spoke a bit about his next project which is set up at Warner Bros.
“The lifestory of the Warrens is my next film,” he said via his account.
Labeled the “original ghost hunters,” the Warrens were real-life supernatural investigators. Ed, a WWII vet and former police officer, described himself as a demonologist and Lorraine is a clairvoyant/medium. Ed passed away in 2006.
The Warrens were involved in the investigation of the Amityville house incident and they took on a number of peculiar cases. Of course, this came with scrutiny from some folks who believed they were frauds. Learn more about them at EdandLorraineWarren.com.
A story about their life sounds like a terrific idea and Wan has demonstrated that he’s the right man for the job. I’m curious to hear about his angle on the story.
Expect an official announcement about the project soon as Wan is currently in pre-production.
