Summit Adapts Teen Ghost Tale, Produces In the Flesh

Also, White Crow picked up for the big screen

Summit Entertainment, the house that Twilight built, is moving from teen vampires to teen ghosts.

The company acquired the script In the Flesh from writer Kristin Hahn (producer of The Time Traveler’s Wife, The Departed). The tale is an adaptation of “A Certain Slant of Light” by Laura Whitcomb.

In the Flesh follows the ghost of a woman who died 130 years ago. She falls for another spirit who teaches her how to possess the body of someone who has died.

Meanwhile, the screen rights for Marcus Sedgwick’s “White Crow” have gone to production outfit Kerry, Kimmel and Pollack.

Variety says, it is about “a 16 year-old girl who moves to a sleepy seaside town with a deadly past, and discovers what’s on the other side of death.”

Shooting is expected to begin in fall of 2012.
