And what are the plans for part 3?
Before a Fantastic Fest audience was stunned into silence during the world premiere screening of Tom Six’s The Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence, before they were given “survival bags” that included a breath mint and a staple remover and before Six informed us all that he went completely “nuts” with this one, Shock had an opportunity to speak with the new cast members Emma Lock, Maddi Black and Katherine Templar, as well as returning actress, Ashlynn Yennie, on the red carpet.
It’s no secret the film, this time around, expands the human chain from three to a whopping 12 bodies. And this endeavor is spearheaded by a warped individual named Martin (Laurence Harvey), who is obsessed with Six’s film. Try to get any further details about the plot from the cast is tantamount to pulling teeth.
“It has really captured everyone’s imagination in so many different ways,” Templar did say of The Human Centipede‘s grip on pop culture. “Everyone has a reaction of some sort, whether it’s good, bad or ugly.”
Compared to the first film, Lock â who plays one of Martin’s unfortunate victims alongside Templar and Black â told us the sequel takes it “to 11 or 15,” on a scale of 1 to 10. “The things I’ve done in this movie, I have never done before,” laughed Black. “I have NEVER done before. On set, there were things I didn’t even know I had to do until five minutes beforehand and Tom would go, ‘Oh, by the way, you have to do this, this and this.’ And I went ‘Oookay,’ it was a learning curve.”
“Tom had an idea and there was a script, but it was always subject to change. And there were some things where he would just say, ‘We’re going to do this now, it’s going to be fantastic and gross, go do it!'” said Lock, “and I was like, ‘Please, please don’t make me do that, thank you.'”
“Tom shot the film in secret,” added Templar of the UK-set production. “We didn’t even know the locations until a couple of days before”
Yennie, co-star of the first film, said she had no apprehensions about coming back. “Six came to me before the first film was released and asked me to be in the second one. This was before it was picked up by IFC, so I got lucky. He gave me an awesome part I couldn’t say no to. The first one is so medical, so clean. This one is going to shock everyone, it’s so different.”
Regarding the new cast, Yennie said, “They were all eager to jump right on into this one. But I asked them, ‘Would you have been so eager to do this if the first film wasn’t so popular?’ Each one of them was, ‘No!’ I was like, ‘You lie!’ We blazed a trail for the other actors and everyone was 100% committed, it was awesome.”
Yennie joked that she doesn’t get recognized on the street for having starred in The Human Centipede, “My face is sewn to an ass! Who would recognize me, c’mon!”

And, in case you do not follow our Twitter account, where we did a live update from the post-screening Q&A last night, Six revealed that The Human Centipede 3: Final Sequence will be “totally sick,” however, it will feature a happy ending. He also said that production will take place in the U.S. this time.
