Eli Roth-Produced Psycho Killer Closer to Reality

Director found, casting begins

Discussed since mid-2009, Psycho Killer – the Eli Roth-produced thriller written by Andrew Kevin Walker (Se7en) – has found a director.

Zombieland producer Gavin Palone will make his directorial debut for producers Roth and Eric Newman and StudioCanal, the team who came together to bring The Last Exorcism to life.

Walker’s tale concerns a serial killer who kills a patrolman. The only witness to the crime, the patrolman’s wife (a fellow officer), sets out to find the killer before he commits a massacre that will gain him the ultimate entrance into hell.

The producers stress it is not a found footage flick and Palone tells Variety the first 20% of the film places the audience alongside the killer’s every move.

Casting is underway.
