Raimi Finds His Man for Dibbuk Box

Ghost House’s latest chiller is coming together

Ghost House Pictures loves to keep it in the family.

The Sam Raimi/Rob Tapert-operated production outfit acquired the Danish film The Substitute for their Ghost House Underground DVD releases, clearly admiring director Ole Bornedal’s work. Now Ghost House has tapped Bornedal for another project: Dibbuk Box, a script by Juliet Snowden and Stiles White acquired in March.

The story is based on the L.A. Times article “A Jinx in a Box,” about a box bought on eBay. Said box brought bad luck to its owners and a “dibbuk” (a malevolent spirit known in Jewish folklore) was to blame.

Lionsgate will distribute Dibbuk Box upon completion.
