Pride and Prejudice and Zombies Loses Director

Why did Russell step away?

An adaptation of the Jane Austen/Seth Grahame-Smith mash-up “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” is seeking a new director, says Vulture.

The outlet confirmed director David O. Russell departed the film to take on Old St. Louis. The reasons? Apparently, scheduling. Producer and leading lady Natalie Portman was not going to be ready to start shooting the film when Russell was, so he bailed.

Portman remains a producer on the project with Lionsgate. Stay tuned for more…
