India production company boosts film slate
You’ve heard the term “J-horror” bandied about more than a few times, I’m sure. Well, how about “I-Horror.”
Pritish Nandy Communications and High Point Media are trying to make that the next big thing with they’re latest partnership, naturally seizing the glut of horror films coming out of India. The production outfits are at work on a horror film entitled The Accident, now in post-production.
According to Variety, The Pilgrim Express and Of Brothers and Sisters are up next.
High Point’s Carey Fitzgerald tells the trade paper: “As with the J-Horror phenomenon, which is distinctly rooted in Japanese culture that is also exportable, I-Horror will be the new by-word distinguishing genuinely scary films that, by their vibrant colors and character, unmistakably herald from India but also tap into a wider consciousness.”
