True Blood Creator Subject of New Comic Book

Profiled for Female Force biography

MTV got the word that Charlaine Harris will be the subject of a Bluewater Productions’ Female Force comic book biography. The author of the Sookie Stackhouse novels, which inspired the HBO hit series True Blood, has had plenty going on in the comic book world these last few weeks. It was just announced that Dynamite Entertainment would be adapting Grave Sight, the first book in Harris’ series of novels about a woman named Harper Connelly who can sense the final moments of the recently deceased. (That’ll hit shelves later this year.)

As far as Female Force: Charlaine Harris, the comic promises to explore the author’s career “from the publication of the lighthearted Aurora Teargarden mysteries to the phenomenon of her vampire-infused Sookie Stackhouse stories.” And unlike previous Female Force” books, Bluewater reports that Harris took an active role in the development of the comic, discussing her career with the comic’s writer, Kim Sherman (who also authored the publisher’s Fame: Robert Pattinson bio).

The book is due out in May.
