Coming later this year from Something Weird Video
In our recent sit-down interview with Bad Biology/ Basket Case helmer Frank Henenlotter, he told us about two new documentary project’s he’s got lined up with Something Weird Video later this year.
“I have a documentary coming out this year on Herschell Gordon Lewis that I did with Something Weird Video, and weâre starting another documentary with Something Weird called Thatâs Sexploitation,” Henenlotter says.
The Herschell Gordon Lewis one isn’t a surprise considering Something Weird Video has put out DVD versions of all of Herschell’s films including The Gore Gore Girls, A Taste of Blood, She-Devils on Wheels, The Gruesome Twosome, Color Me Blood Red, as well as the original versions of Two Thousand Maniacs and The Wizard Of Gore, both of which were remade recently by filmmakers Tim Sullivan and Jeremy Kasten, respectively. Considering the plethora of Lewis titles in their catalog, we asked if the Herschell documentary would be part of a boxed set or it’s own release.
“The Herschell documentary will be its own release,” confirmed Henenlotter. “And itâs going to be hitting film festivals later this year.”
