Dee Snider’s Strangeland 2 Rolling Soon?

Ohio offers tax break

An interesting article surfaced out of an Ohio broadcast news bureau concerning the status of Dee Snider’s Strangeland 2: Disciple.

According to News Net 5, the sequel is one of three projects approved to shoot in the state using Ohio’s Film Tax Credit. Nehst Studios, based out of Cleveland, is overseeing the production.

Pre-production has to begin within 90 days to take advantage of the tax credit.

This is the most we’ve heard about Strangeland 2 (subtitled Disciple) in some time. Snider has talked about it for the last decade, but nothing has ever come to fruition.

When it was released in 1998 by Artisan, Strangeland found Snider playing a killer named Captain Howdy who used the internet to lure victims into his various traps. Imagine what Howdy can do today with the various social networking sites out there. So much prey…

It’s unknown who will direct Strangeland 2, but Snider is, once again, writing.
