Fans of Min-woo Hyung’s Korean comic book series “Priest” are bound to see differences when Scott Stewart’s feature film adaptation, Priest, hits the screen. It’s inevitable.
Publisher Tokyopop hopes to ease readers into the big screen interpretation through an all-new graphic novel called “Priest: Purgatory.”
A veil of evil threatens to engulf humanity, and one man stands in the way of the apocalypse: our hero, a fallen priest who sold his soul for the power to battle evil and fight for humanity’s redemption.
Tokyopop says “Purgatory” will bridge the storyline in the comic to the film which stars Paul Bettany, Karl Urban and Maggie Q.
The first issue in the four-part comic series streets on March 31; the film opens on August 20.
