Welcome to the New Shock Till You Drop!

A letter from the editor

Happy (early) Halloween, fiends…

Here at ShockTillYouDrop.com the metamorphosis is complete. We’re cooling down our Lovecraftian “Resonator” which brought forth this site’s arcane new design. Not to worry, it doesn’t bite, but you might find a slight tingling sensation in your pineal gland during your visit.

Yes, after two and a half years, your leader in horror news that I’ve nurtured with all the maniacal love I can grant to a warped child – and with the help of many contributing writers, including our most recent addition to the team Robert Galluzzo (of Icons of Fright) – has received a much-needed facelift. As you read this we’re still ironing out any kinks the site might have, so please be patient.

The most notable alterations are, of course, to the homepage. More room for headlines. Larger space for our feature articles. We bumped up the review column so you can keep track of our latest additions. And not only that, we’re now spotlighting our latest videos and images. What I particularly dig is our “most craved” section which gives you the lowdown on our hottest articles and how they’re ranking. It offers a look at what visitors are buzzing about. (At the time of this writing, the section was acting up, so we’re whipping it into shape now. A few good lashes should do the trick.) Our “top previews” also tells you what films visitors are checking in on the most. We’ve got a new logo, too! Hopefully, it will be finding its way onto t-shirts and other swag in the near future.

As for the attitude, we’re adopting a slightly new approach with many more original columns and exclusive features to come. When it comes to the news, we’ll continue to do our best to be the most informative and first on the scene. The months ahead will be busy ones indeed…

Next week, the American Film Market begins – a whirlwind three days of screenings and advance looks at what’s to come on the horror scene. Once we push past the holidays, early 2010 is throwing open the gate to a number of anticipated titles. Take a look here.

So, there you have it. If you’re a newcomer to the site, welcome! I hope you stick around. If you’re a frequent visitor, thanks for sticking with Shock. This lil’ monster is a labor of love.
