Red Riding Trilogy Goes to Ridley Scott

The hunt for a killer comes to the U.S.

If such extensive work is being done across on the pond on the subject, why remake it here?

We’re talking about the “Red Riding” trilogy, based on the novels by David Peace which chronicle the hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper. Our last report on the series of UK films came here and, since then, IFC Films has picked them up for distribution.

Yet Columbia Pictures is already seeking to remake the series here in the States with Steve Zaillian on board to write and Ridley Scott directing. The two collaborated on Hannibal and American Gangster. Columbia’s redo will relocate the story in the States.

IFC is set to release the UK “Red Riding” trilogy this fall.
