Prequel comic book for slasher
Writer-producer Ted Geoghegan has provided ShockTillYouDrop.com with an exclusive look at “Sweatshop: Hide ‘N Shriek,” the seven-page prequel comic book that will come with the feature length movie when it officially debuts on DVD.
“Sweatshop: Hide ‘N Shriek” was written by director Stacy Davidson and producer Ted Geoghegan, the duo also responsible for “Sweatshop’s over-the-top screenplay, and features artwork by Thomas Mason, best-known for his spectacular colors on the current run of Marvel’s “Cable” and in Wildstorm’s “Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash.”
Legendary Tom Orzechowski lettered the book; he’s lettered more than 6000 pages of classic X-Men comics, including 1982’s groundbreaking Wolverine (which he also designed the iconic logo for), and is an Inkspot, Wizard Fan, and Harvey Award-winner. His distinctive lettering and bubble style have defined a majority of mainstream comics over the past thirty years.
“Sweatshop: Hide ‘N Shriek” is a prequel story that reveals one unfortunate character’s grisly fate and sets up the opening shot of the film.
Sweatshop stars Ashley Kay, Peyton Wetzel, Melanie Donihoo, Julin, Danielle Jones, Brent D. Himes, Naika Malveaux, Krystal Freeman, Vincent Guerrero and Jeremy Sumrall.
We’ll keep you posted on a DVD release once it becomes official. See some stills at our previous news post here.
