Set to direct for Phoenix Pictures
Takashi Shimizu (Ju-On and the American remake The Grudge) will direct an untitled thriller for Phoenix Pictures, making this his third American film.
The story centers around a haunted tune that drives listeners to suicide, says Variety. The idea stemmed from the minds of Shimizu and famed horror producer Taka Ichise. Chris Philpott penned the script.
Ichise will produce with Mike Medavoy, Arnold Messer and Brad Fischer. Phoenix will finance the film.
