Mother’s Day Redo Gets Injection of True Blood

She’s a new member of the family

Deborah Ann Woll, known to True Blood fans for her turn as the vampire Jessica, is the first to enlist for Mother’s Day.

The picture is a redo of Charles Kaufman’s ’80s film of the same name. Darren Lynn Bousman will direct from a script by Scott Milam. According to THR, who sheds some more light on the plot, Mother’s Day “sees a villainous family, slightly expanded to include a daughter (Woll), return to the house where they grew up and terrorize the new owners and their guests.

So, as you can tell, this remake is going to deviate slightly from the original. Shooting begins this fall in Manitoba for Twisted Pictures, the Genre Co., Rat Entertainment and LightTower Entertainment.
