Based on the Cirque du Freak novels
Director Paul Weitz brings Darren Shan’s “Cirque du Freak” to life in The Vampire’s Assistant and now you can get a look at the film via a full trailer below. It’s peculiar to see John C. Reilly playing Larten Crepsley, the film’s main bloodsucker, but Weitz displays some playful visuals when the “freaks” present themselves. Definitely for the kids, but it goes to some pretty dark places. The film also stars Ken Watanabe, Chris Massoglia, Josh Hutcherson, Patrick Fugit, Ray Stevenson, Michael Cerveris and Frankie Faison. Look for it in theaters on October 23rd. We’ll have a full set report later this month.
