Set to direct the prequel
Well, well, well…
Ridley Scott is going back to the Alien franchise after all. For years there’s been talks of him developing a sequel (once with James Cameron). Then a prequel.
Variety confirms 20th Century Fox has attached Scott to a prequel that he will direct! Jon Spaihts will pen the film, his credits include two space thrillers Passengers and Shadow 19. This is the studio’s latest move to reinvigorate some of its franchise creatures. Fox is also overseeing Predators with Robert Rodriguez producing.
