Black Sabbath Geared for Franchise

Founding band member strikes deal

Mike Fleiss, the producer of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Hostel, has formed a new production outfit called Next Films. On the company’s plate is the project Black Sabbath.

No, it’s not related to the Mario Bava picture. Instead, it’s taking its cue from the band, however, the name is merely serving as an inspiration for the project and isn’t about the group. According to THR, Next signed a deal with guitarist-songwriter Tony Iommi – a founding member of Black Sabbath. Iommi also will score the movies.

Fleiss formed the film-production company with producing partner Chris Briggs.
