Updating the 1932 Lugosi film
Tobe Hooper (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) may be revisiting the 1932 classic White Zombie, which starred Bela Lugosi. That’s what sources have been telling me for the last month.
The original, directed by Victor Halperin, tells of a botched attempt on a young man’s behalf to lure a woman he desires away from her fiance. She dies and is resurrected as a “zombie.” Garnett Weston penned the script.
Upon revisiting the press notes for The Haunting in Connecticut, I discovered they state Steve Whitney is producing the update. His credits include Tamara and Borderland.
More info as it comes!
