More Haunting House Hijinks in Conjuring

From the writers of House of Wax

It appears every studio is trying to get a piece of the haunted house pie. Summit Entertainment is moving on Conjuring, a tale inspired by the events that befell a family in Rhode Island.

Chad and Carey Hayes are writing the script. The pair penned House of Wax, The Blob remake (which has been quiet) and the upcoming Whiteout.

According to Variety, “the deal comes with life rights to the Perron family, whose experiences in their Rhode Island home informs the film, and Ed and Lorraine Warren, experts in paranormal activities who investigated and battled the activities occurring in the Perron household.”

Other studios with haunted house films in the works include Lionsgate, with The Haunting in Georgia, and Dark Castle with Apparition.
