He didn’t even get a call…
While ShockTillYouDrop.com visits the set of A Nightmare on Elm Street in Chicago, Freddy Krueger’s creator Wes Craven is speaking out about the Platinum Dunes-produced franchise reboot. And really, it’s nothing that hasn’t been said already by Craven who reiterates to IGN that he never received a phone call about the new film.
“Yes it does hurt, it does because its such an important film for me that, unfortunately, when I signed the original contract I gave up all rights to it and so there’s nothing I can do about it,” he says. “I was much happier with Last House on the Left that I could kind of shepherd it towards production and we found a really wonderful director.”

Now, there’s a reason for everything, from my understanding. A reason Craven never got a phone call from the big brass at New Line. The specifics are mired in business-related affairs that are beyond us. Still, at the end of the day, it’s sorta messed up. Craven has distanced himself from the reboot so much he says he doesn’t even know the creative forces behind it.
Music video vet Samuel Bayer is directing with cast members Jackie Earle Haley, Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Thomas Dekker and Katie Cassidy.
