Abel Ferrara is back to the horror biz with Jekyll and Hyde, a modern take on Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel. This is the second adaptation to be announced in the last week, except this version is going to star…Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
To be fair, Forest Whitaker – who co-starred in Ferrara’s Body Snatchers in the early-’90s – will join 50 Cent. But this is destined to be pretty outrageous. Whitaker will play the good Dr. Jekyll who invents a potion that unleashes his alter ego.
Variety reports Glasshouse Pictures and Cheetah Vision Films are producing.
Ferrara’s credits also include Bad Lieutenant and The Addiction.
