Script currently being written
Director Sam Mendes (Road to Perdition) provided an update recently on Preacher, the tough-to-crack Vertigo comic book property that’s in development at Columbia.
In Mendes’ talk with Collider, John August is currently at work on the script which follows Jesse Custer, a Texas preacher possessed by the offspring of a demon and an angel, who sets out to find God with his girlfriend and vampire pal. Mendes hopes to begin rolling cameras in 2010.
He’s presently at work on two plays that he’ll be taking around the world soon. For more, check out this video interview with the man.
