Psychological creature feature
David Slade already has his follow-up project to The Twilight Saga: Eclipse lined up. Once he’s done tackling the Stephenie Meyer adaptation, he’ll direct a film entitled Cold Skin which will begin shooting March 2010.
Based on the Spanish novel of the same name, the story is a psychological horror thriller set on an Antarctic island. Jesus Olmo (28 Weeks Later) scripted the adaptation. According to Variety, the budget is projected at $25 million.
The story tells of a young man who is sent to the aforementioned island. There he discovers amphibious humanoids, one of which has been captured and used as a sex slave by another man on the island. Conflict arises when the protagonist comes to care for the female creature.
Slade’s credits include Hard Candy and 30 Days of Night. He begins work on The Twilight Saga: Eclipse later this year.
