Offers all around for hellish hero
When I saw the original Spawn in theaters, it was a midnight screening on opening night. I preceded it with seeing The Who in concert. It was a long night…and Spawn, the dreadful piece of trash it was, only made it longer. A reboot almost seems mandatory at this point, as an apology letter to the fans.
The character’s creator Todd McFarlane attended the Wolverine premiere this week and IESB spoke with him about a new film.
“He has five offers on the table to do a new Spawn film. From big special effects studio budgets to a smaller indie budgets that he hopes to be able to write and direct himself,” says the site.
Preferably, a big studio might be the best way given the scale of the FX that are needed to tell the story of Spawn. But who knows? A sequel/reboot has been discussed for so long now…will it ever happen?
