Weaver Out, Milano in for Ghostbusters Role

It’s not what you think

That’s right, we’re talkin’ about Ghostbusters: The Video Game.

Variety reports Alyssa Milano will voice the role of Dr. Ilyssa Selwyn after Sigourney Weaver – who played the character Dana Barrett in two feature films – turned the opportunity down to participate. The game was penned by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis. All of the original ‘busters returned to lend their vocal talents.

Atari is prepping to release the game on June 16th for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, Wii and PC. The storyline is set after the events of Ghostbusters II. Players slip into the shoes of a Ghostbusting recruit who helps the team take on various supernatural menaces.

“Obviously, fans of the movie are going to miss Sigourney Weaver,” Milano tells Variety. “I have so much respect for that character in the movie that I hope I do the position that she is in justice. I was just flattered to be asked to be part of ‘Ghostbusters’.”
