Blood Castle Special Edition on the Way

You ready for a 2-disc Giant Spider?

Mya Communication is prepping for the May 19th release of The Legend of Blood Castle, Jorge (Let Sleeping Corpses Lie) Grau’s take on the Elizabeth Bathory tale.

Release in ’73, Lucia Bosé plays Bathory, a countess who seeks fresh, young blood to preserve her beauty. She is aided by her husband Karl (Espartaco Santoni), who fakes his own death and poses as a vampire to throw the villagers off track. The film also went by the name The Female Butcher.

The disc will include a 1.77:1 anamorphic transfer, deleted and alternate scenes, the original Italian opening credits and a photo gallery.

Earlier in the month, on May 5, The Giant Spider Invasion will be getting the director’s cut two-disc treatment through MVD Entertainment. The presentation will feature a restored print, an interview and separate audio commentary with director Bill Rebane, an 8mm slide show and a theatrical trailer.
