Headey Bows Out of Black Death

Who now co-stars next to Sean Bean?

Ecosse Films’ Black Death has experienced a number of changes in front of and behind the camera since being announced last year, the latest being a switcheroo in leading ladies.

Lena Headey was initially slated to star, now Famke Janssen tells the print edition of New York Moves magazine that she has returned from Germany playing the role originally meant for The Sarah Connor Chronicles actress. This reunites Janssen with GoldenEye‘s Sean Bean who, here, is a man seeking a necromancer during the first outbreak of bubonic plague in England. Rupert Friend is said to co-star.

In November, Christopher Smith took over the director duties on the project when Geoff Sax dropped out. Smith also helmed Severence and Creep.
