Bikers, Vamps on Arcana and Legacy Film Slate

Each based on comic book properties

Legacy Filmworks, a Canadian production outfit, is getting fired up over a new deal it has implemented with Arcana Studios. The two have teamed up for a five-picture slate, two of which are horror film projects.

One is entitled Chopper, based on the Martin Shapiro graphic novel of the same name. The first issue, an origin tale, made its debut at Comic-Con this year and told of Jeremiah Payne, a “chopper-riding Angel of Death” who becomes a headless ghost (that’s unfortunate) and exterminates evil sinners. He soon goes head to, er, no head with a cop who’s determined to bring Payne down.

According to THR, that title is expected to begin rolling next month. Mind you, this should not be confused with the similarly-themed Chopper Zombie set up by Monster Garage‘s Thom Beers.

The next film over at Legacy/Arcana is Sundown a period thriller set in 1880 when a NYC reporter travels to Arizona to investigates the deaths of area preachers. He teams with his sheriff brother and gets tangled up with vampires.

Myriad Pictures will aid in branding the films and handle international sales.
