Chainsaw Scribe Conjurs Up Something Satanic

Cults, sacrifice and goats…

Texas Chainsaw Massacre ’03 and The Amityville Horror remake scribe Scott Kosar is developing an original horror picture for Platinum Dunes.

“It is a story about a college girl whose brother dies, and she goes to investigate his death and finds he was into some pretty freaky stuff,” producer Brad Fuller tells Sci-Fi Wire. “And [she] wants to get to the bottom of it. And doing so, has to see some things that maybe she didn’t want to see. That are unsettling.”

Fuller goes on to say that the protagonist realizes her sibling was mixed up in a Satanic cult. “We’re not going to, like, slit goats throats,” he continues. “It’s more psychological. You’re going to see some of the stuff, certainly, but, like, I was reading one of the scenes, and a goat is butchered on camera, and [Drew] calls me, and he says, ‘You know what, call Scott and get rid of the goats, we’re not going to shoot that. Women are going to walk out of the theater. Just cut it.’ You know? So, like, we’re investigating what it’s going to be. We’re in the more early stages.”

Sounds like a dash of The Seventh Victim and much more. For Sci-Fi Wire’s full story, which goes into a bit more detail, click here!
