Universal declares new release date
Hear that? It’s the howl of The Wolfman moving further into the distance.
Universal Pictures has confirmed it is shifting the release date for the remake starring Benicio Del Toro to November 6th. It was originally slated to debut on April 3rd.
We’ve got our fingers crossed that this shift isn’t due to the turbulent post-production process director Joe Johnston is slogging through. Sources tell us there’s still indecisiveness over the Wolfman’s transformation – something Rick Baker touched on in this interview.
Inspired by the classic Universal film that launched a legacy of horror, The Wolfman brings the myth of a cursed man back to its iconic origins. Del Toro stars as Lawrence Talbot, a haunted nobleman lured back to his family estate after his brother vanishes. Reunited with his estranged father (Anthony Hopkins), Talbot sets out to find his brother…and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself.
