He’s back from the Crusades…
Nicolas Cage rides like the wind in a new photo from Season of the Witch, Dominic Sena’s supernatural thriller set in the 14th century. Producer Charles Roven of The Dark Knight tells USA Today, Cage’s character, Lavey, is “back from the Crusades and has lost his faith in the church and in God.”
He’s tasked with transporting a girl suspected of being the witch who caused the Black Plague to trial. Believing she is wrongly accused, Lavey and a group of wary followers fight through a mystical and treacherous landscape to a hallowed place where her innocence can be proved and Europe’s curse can be lifted. Unbeknownst to Lavey, even darker forces await them.
Claire Foy and Ron Perlman co-star. Columbia Pictures is producing.
